actual banks have a right to Mark to maturity, of a loan. with no remaining Ibanks the mark to market rule is just about useless.....
once the fed comes in, the banks can free their balance sheets from the assets that the analysts and the market has forced them to mark to market, instead of mark to maturity.
Financial history doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes. You can't be stupid enough to trade off anything I say.... I'm lucky they let me out of the straight-jacket long enough to trade.
