Financial history doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes. You can't be stupid enough to trade off anything I say.... I'm lucky they let me out of the straight-jacket long enough to trade.

Breaking down events

Plus or minus...

all of this has been about allowing Lehman to fail.

Good or Bad.... I say good.

but the lack of confidence in the financial markets, post that event. That "Who the Treasury and fed" were going to allow to fail, was in question.

but as you realize as JPM and C now when they take someone over, part of the deal is some capital raising....

One can look at it like it's Carrot and the stick.

The lack of confidence is now what we have, and it's going to take some time to heal. after the 87 crash, I hear it took weeks for libor and the swap spread to get back to normal.

Regardless of the rescue.... The idea that "Risk of failure of these huge firms"..... The extra funny thing is that the problem is "too big to fail" and what are we doing... Creating "even bigger banks"... Cause what we really need is "MEGA TOO BIG TO FAIL"

I've mentioned the eastern ideas of sometimes when we fight against something too much... Like socialism, the result tends to be more socialism... IE the laissez-faire capitalists, had they allowed some minor regulations in the beginning, we wouldn't' be looking at a 700 billion bail out. And if we don't do the bail out .... we will then be looking at a 10 trillion economic stimulus.. ala "The NEW NEW DEAL"

"in order to move Right, you have to step left and push off." try moving right without pushing off to the left, it won't happen.

All things in moderation.

I find it funny when someone fights so hard against something, and in the end they get the opposite... We want "not too big to fail" and the result tends to be "MEGA too big to fail"

that the Result of the original Laissez-faire french, was the french revolution... and the rebirth of democracy
