Big posting on Climate change over at "The big picture"..... One of the things I learned from a Climate debate many years ago was.
People believe what they want to believe, Cherry picking the data. Ignoring anything that differs from their preconceived notion that..... and excuse me here. "God Created this planet for us to exploit."..... Moreover... "God Created this planet for Me to Exploit..... Everyone and Everything"
I'm not a Breeder, I have little at stake in this planet going on and on and on...... and as I'm getting older, I'm doubting I ever will. As far as I'm concerned, this planet can Burn up.... Explode, Freeze over, Detonate in a Fiery Nuclear explosion.... All I risk is some higher cancer risk.
The Data.... if you look at climate data. another thing one might notice is that in the past 3000 years there has been exceptional "Stability" in the Temperatures... Abnormal in the grand scale. It seems obvious to me that that environment has provided us with a perfect "Petry dish" for us to flourish. Throwing that trend off... and kicking off "Climate Instability"... Is the worst thing we can do.
Climate modeling is impossible, even harder than economic modeling. No body knows what the impact is we are having.... Will have. But the obvious thing is that... We are seeing an increase in "Instability". Just like the market in the past months... Huge Gyrations in our climate are very Bearish. Ultimately our planet will create enough Gyrations to Buck us off this planet like a cowboy off a rodeo bull. So... Long term the planet will be fine... once it shakes this parasite... Humanity off it's back.
The climate does have an ability to "moderate" some effects... But the idea that this is a small super cycle... is wrong... this is a much larger 100K year event... a Geologic event... that we are unlikely to survive.
Financial history doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes. You can't be stupid enough to trade off anything I say.... I'm lucky they let me out of the straight-jacket long enough to trade.
