The other thing Congress is pissed about is this:
Goldman rejected offers to settle AIG trades at a discount.
One could maybe even suggest that if Goldman pays off the Tarp... congress will still come after them.
Financial history doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes. You can't be stupid enough to trade off anything I say.... I'm lucky they let me out of the straight-jacket long enough to trade.

Go after Goldman? Why, how? I think Congress will find very quickly that the vilification of these Wall Street execs and companies is a double edged sword. Enough pitchfork wielders and the blood will stain everybody, just ask Chris Dodd who this is working out (as you referenced).
This is just more reason to tell me that if -- again, a big IF-- this scheme works, Goldman may be one of the few financial firms to survive relatively intact.
I'm not saying it is going to affect the stock value... but there are these "Cabal seekers" and we will see how it develops, but we "Could" see hearings about a goldman cabal.
