Financial history doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes. You can't be stupid enough to trade off anything I say.... I'm lucky they let me out of the straight-jacket long enough to trade.

Great American Tragedy

.... For those of you who don't know, I've been a small Businessman and a Contractor for a long time. Every time I hear some Government Bureaucrat, talking about Small Business Being the engine of growth in our economy, it drives me nuts, and I'm about to illustrate why.

In the course of my Contracting, about 5 or 6 years ago, I realized there was a pattern. Big Business who instead of hiring employees would hire "Contract Workers", No benefits, and no promise of long term employment. The first few times I ran across this. I realized they didn't want to pay "Contractor Wages", and the idea of paying another 500-1000 a month to cover Benefits.(the cost of Benefits to a company are roughly $10-$15 per hour, based on 40 hour weeks.)
They also want employees to be "At Will" and then don't want to pay the extra Premium for not providing regular work. Which is another $20-$50 per hour.

So I ran across this site, through an associate... and it's the "Unintended Consequence of this new Trend as companies refuse to Live up to their obligations to employees.... Or Contractors, as they put it. As Hard working individuals end up with Critical health Problems, and no insurance.

And to those that think people are "Dead Beats" who can't carry the water, When what it is that Companies like Exxon Mobil who find employees "Disposable", forcing hard working water Carriers into cases for Bankruptcy.

but many of these people who are underpaid, and being taken advantage of by Corporate America, are the "Small Businessmen" we are talking about.
