I was pointed to this post.... about 10 most youtube iran video....
When I realized that for some reason I wasn't getting 10 video's and I had seen 2 and they wern't in order.. and thought about how fucked up this Social networking is... and how 2 video's can be 10....
then I realized that the post was a Repost of this Post.... Which is a Great Post...
and steps you through the chronology of the Video's Etc....
but it pointed out to me how shitty it is when some fucking Hack Steals Shit from another Blogger and Reposts it.... Like it is their original Content..... Because.. People are narcissistic Hacks... and want it to all be about them....
But then as I was watching...
I get that Iran and some of the people want international intervention....
but I just think if they would realize that Like with most Revolutions.... It's for you to do on your own....
The Russian... the Chinese... the American(ya we got some help from the french, but it would be similar to if Iraq would help Iran... or Saudi Arabia... or turkey.. than for the U.S. to come in...
And I also was reminded of some of the Thomas Pain stuff I'm going through.....
and one of the first steps to revolution... and this seems universal... is to first deny the Divine Right of Kings.... and being Ruled by your Religion.....
Common Sense has a huge section about how there is no reason for America to be Divinely ruled by some Lineage of Entitled assholes from Europe, based on some kind of "They are Inspired by god".... It seems silly now.. but even in the 16th century there was the idea that God decided the King was the ruler of the Land.... Does that sound like the Middle East???????
Seems like they need to move away from that concept before real democracy can take hold....

One other thing that has occurred to me is the power of the internet in such crises. Imagine if we had twitter and youtube during Tianamen square.
And the Authoritarian Fear wing of the GOP fought the Gore Senate bill in the early 90's that opened up ARPA into the WWW. Instead they used that meme to pillory Gore during the 2000 election with the false accusation that he said he "invented" the internet.
The availability of such outlets are tantamount to the printing press... which brought on the first assault against authoritarianism. (Your Thomas Paine references made me think of it.)

Of course there is the amount of garbage... but..
but... I was looking at satellite images of the storms yesterday so I could time my bike ride between storms... "Looks like I have about 3 hours of clear weather, from 10-1"..
I was like "Damn... could I have predicted that I could do this 10 years ago...."

but I could have said... We will be amazed at how far technology will get us in 10 years....

Yeah, I go stopped out of my DBRN at the open and that had me watching it all day.
I've had the best day in two weeks... these trend days are just so nice.
But now I take (some) profits and wonder where this beast goes from here.
Maybe I'll sit in cash for a while, but utilities and retail are holding up... Long DUK, short COST? Just thinking out loud.
we should have more selling at the open tomorrow...
