Financial history doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes. You can't be stupid enough to trade off anything I say.... I'm lucky they let me out of the straight-jacket long enough to trade.

Guess The Close.....

On a sleepy day, it's time for the "Guess the Close game"..... contestants will submit the close on the SPY... Not the stinking DJIA, and its 8 stocks all of which show growth in many dinasour industries.

and since I'd have to change my charts to the SPX instead of the spy....

We Play the SPY

Winner will get admiration from peers and a solid Ataboy-Atagirl-AtaTrader. Submissions should be posted by 3 Eastern.... As the Pinball wizard, I shall post by 2:30.

MY guess.... Ok The safe guess is 126.70......

but I'm swinging for the fence. 126.3127

Below 126. If that happens, I'm shorting everything in sight.

My only losers this month have been long positions of all sorts. I'm pissed.

This week feels like two steps forward, two steps back. Maybe I should take a break like all the normal people do.

I'd sugjest.... and this isn't my book, the only things to get long are materials... MAYBE.

The "chop" has been and will be Nasty.

but If you buy Idiot wave stuff, Our biggest downside in this move... Should be starting soon.

Good news today is that I didn't short the SPX and hit the Naz... and it's producing nicely.

Short term, I'd say there is still money in all things Pro Hurricane... This is a perfect move into the Gulf... seems like easy money.

Retail shorts arn't producing... I'm suprised.. Maybe tomorrow...

Semiconductors are underproducing nicely.

More comfortable shorting at this point. Also have to remember that sometimes it's okay to step away and wait for a better entry. Not much is really attractive right now (imo).

Yeah retail dared to recover this morning. I covered one, and it's racing. I feel like revenge-shorting it again, must die. This is the kind of emotion professionals never allow. As a hobbyist, I can.

My Spy-dar is off today :)

another long play is utilities... the money is flowing there, since healthcare and noncyclcals are getting crushed.

but you dont' want to hear about that.... Tell me the stock that is running..... let me run some astrology on it.

Sorry.

Tony had mentioned FusionIQ and I've been looking at them even before that. So I signed up today.

Their top pick is ALO. I can't figure it out. Shows high score both technically and fundamentally.

I don't know if I should hold QID overnight? Should I add QLD 'on weakness'?

Eric said...

That is a tough guess, It's hit resistance and is trying to do a 50% retrace... but it's enevitable it will go through...

but, there looks like there is some short covering in the financials that could cause some market upside..

Bears were sad that the FDIC wasn't Grimm....

Well, in a wonderful twist I now own both QID and QLD, and they're both losing me money. Lawd, give me patience.

VLO is my only long that I have high hopes for. Check out what it did after Katrina.

always opportunity tomorrow

that is what you get for hedging. 46.46 is the resistance on the cubes.

But we could get a nice bounce tomorrow

I feel this is not what you want to discuss. Really, very sorry to bore you today.

Eric said...

*shrug*..... this is a lot of covering, lead by those financials... guess the bears ran out of news flow.

Damn..... I have the Heebie Gebies...

My judgment has been off for a couple weeks... or right on with that nice pattern of selling the bottomish.

Fuck.... This is like Uber Yips... Damn it Damn it damn it....

I was talking about the market action that was booring... not the company.

Your hedge was smart... I think
