OMG yank sell off

Market sells off as the NY Yankees lowers price on Yankees seats.

I'll stick to my local Tripple AAA, and 2 dollar drink thursday... and cheep hotdogs...

  1. Anecdotal: (Central Division Champs) White Sox seats behind dugouts are going for near face value on Stubhub-- unheard of even on these cold days early in the season.

    Deflation?

Of course the Yankees tix are still 40% more than they were last year, and the Yankees are 40% worse this year.

  2. I've learned since my "money printing" days that deflation and inflation are complicated..

    so ya deflation..

but damn... seriously for the cost of a ticket to MLB, I can get like a season of drunken sillyness with my local Buzz team.

and I can sit behind trd base and heckle... and they can be offended and threaten me... get thrown out... the whole bit.. and cotton candy and the salty popcorn

  4. It felt important to me, but I've been wrong before so I'll wait and see. So many head fakes...

This head of resistance will be tough to break through, but I'm not sure the failure will be that magnificent; we could just have a slow motion roll over.

When I was a resident in Grand Rapids, we went to the White Caps (Tigers single A affiliate) games, which was quite different from the Sox games I went to as a kid in Chicago. Fun, but different. Now, I find nothing beats the experience of a MLB pennant race or playoff series with 42,000 fans screaming. The only thing that comes close are Bear games when the wind chill off the lake is -25.

Market feels ugly and tired, but not fearful. Let's call it the Britney Spears market: still has some talent and might pull off another successful tour, but it's best days are probably behind it and just as likely could end up in an unconscious heap next to the toilet gargling it's own vomit someday.
